"Move it or lose it! The 'it' being your existences, I think!" |
Let's get up to speed.
It's been an uneventful few weeks on the island of Baisla--maybe suspiciously so. You've had some time to gather your bearings. You've settled into your cabanas, gotten used to whoever you're sharing them with, collected some of your personal effects (which were bizarrely scattered to the wind.) The consistent 5 PM downpours are likely routine by now. You've had the chance to get the lay of the mainland and get a feel for the locals and some of their customs-- they sure like to dance, huh? Plus, they've got a lot of cool technology, though it isn't the sleek science fiction dream that is the Moon Base. And hopefully you've all made peace with the Fantasy Costco vending machine that's been harassing you to drink what some of you may now recognize as the ichor of the Voidfish. That's right-- some of you have gotten your memories back too, though to varying degrees. Those of you who have will recognize that this doesn't seem to be an ordinary mission situation. There's no briefing whatsoever or contact with the outside world, no sign of Lucretia, and a lot more questions than answers. Good news, though! Despite that, it seems you're not alone on your journey. Everyone's favorite boy detective, Angus McDonald is here to help you out! The Animalians are all friendly, and there doesn't seem to be much sign of danger... is there? What to do, Reclaimers? |
Points of Interest.

It seems like every time you look, there's more to do and explore! And, well, with middling memories and no stated mission or hints on the location of the relic or Lucretia or much of anything, really, how are you going to spend your time? Why not check out the sights?![]() Gilded Wall: The most obvious(ly dangerous) thing to check out is the Gilded Wall, something all Animalians will try to warn you against going past! If given the chance, they will frantically insist that you turn back, and tell you tales of the evil lurking behind it... But it's such a grand, lovely structure. Surely whatever is behind it can't be that bad, right?
Coliseum: Anyone looking to hone their physical skills, get some rewards, and do some good ol' fashioned brawling will find some worthy adversaries in the Coliseum! There are many opponents you can challenge, ranging from the island's most skilled fighters to refined magitech beasts-- and they are certainly formidable enough opponents for even Reclaimers to take on! You can even fight other Reclaimers here if you both sign up. All in good fun, of course. K. V. Labs: If you're having trouble comprehending those big magitech beasts or perhaps have a few questions about other forms of magitech, you might like to visit the island's lead technomancer, K.V.! At their labs just past the Coliseum, K.V. can answer any questions you might have about the magical beasts the Animalians have created or about their advanced technomancy. You might even get a chance to assist with repairs or take a closer look at the magitech beasts! Provided you can keep their attention, of course... Deep Foggy Forest: For those that are feeling particularly adventurous and unconcerned with danger -- or simply want to hunt their own meat, they can venture into the deeper, darker parts of the Foggy Forest. There are plenty of strange creatures lurking about -- animals who don't resemble the Animalians, monsters who don't look quite right, and everything in between. There's an eerie atmosphere that grows stranger and almost darker the deeper you venture... but you're Reclaimers, right? You've faced worse. Be careful, though; according to the Animalians, dangerous creatures are afoot. In particular, they warn that some of the evil trapped behind the wall had escaped long ago, and now lurks deep in the heart of the forest... ![]() The locals have also been willing to fill you in on some of the smaller islands that make up the archipelago, which you're welcome to visit if you can find a way to get to them. Though some of them are more appealing than others. On the other hand... If you'd like a break from exploring, there's plenty to do around the Boardwalk and plenty of Animalians who’d love a pair of extra hands to help with whatever errands they've got to dump on you! Most notably, if you're looking to get your boogie on, it seems the Animalians are gearing up for their seasonal dance competition. And it's open to Reclaimers! The competition accepts groups of up to three dancers as a dancing unit! With multiple studios and outdoor dance spaces available in the Boardwalk economic hub toward the southeast of the main island, you'll have lots of opportunities to practice your moves before the big day. If dancing's not your speed, Captain Baxley & The Crew are more than happy to put you to work! There's plenty of ways to keep yourselves occupied around the Boardwalk. Or you could head over to the Roswell Center to learn more about Animalians and medicine. Or have a hike up the Cascades and swim with the wildlife... or explore the outer islands! There are many possibilities open to you! You could even take the time to learn your new paths or simply refresh your memories and test out your abilities. Curiously enough, there does seem to be another island past a massive and foreboding barrier of thorns... But it doesn't seem like it's possible to get past the thorns head-on, no matter how hard you try. Maybe there's another way...? |

A note from your Navigators.
Keep an eye out for sign-ups for the dance competition, and as well as a sign-up form for something fun and NPC related on the log post itself! The dancing competition will allow for five groups of up to three people, and will require you to come up with a dance team name, style, and more! Feel free to start putting plans together and coming up with sick dancing troupe names. |
QUESTIONS
no subject
Our mission, if we choose to accept it, is to continue our exploration of the island. This entails possibly defeating hostile pirates and monsters in combat, hopefully finding a way to the island behind the thorns, but most importantly of all: defeating all comers in dance.
Do groups with bards and dancers get special advantages?

Also, if it is, are there some people with not all their memories back who might not know how to access it? Do they get some type of notification if private messaged by someone who DOES remember how to use it?

"Please note that when submitting for RNG and CTAs, you must provide the paths of all characters involved. This is to facilitate mods using archetype-specific bonuses and keeping track of path-specific skills."
So, suppose we have an idea and submit it for the RNG / CTA, but sometime after that, we decide other characters will be joining in the expedition. Belated plotting, all that jazz.
Do you all have a preference how we proceed with that? Does the expanded group just use the original roll, unaltered? Do the tagalongs submit for their own roll? Do we follow up with a ping to you, to see if the new members' inclusion merits a +1 to the standing result? Something else?

christine & mccree
— Will definitely be participating in the dance competition! She's a Dancer and loves shaking her groove thang.
— Will be all about helping young Angus with whatever he needs because it's her unofficial job to mother the young
and anybody else, really.Checking out the ruins, K.V. Labs, and the Roswell Center (medicine, you say?) is also on her list.—Will be up for tagging along with whatever your characters want to do!
{ mccree }
— Will probably tempt fate by getting too close to pirates and end up firing a warning shot past someone's ear.
— Will probably go snorkling or something to try and find an alternate route to that island past the thorns.
— Will head into the foggy forest to hunt some game. Who knows what he might find in there?
— Will absolutely tag along for any misadventures your characters want to have!

Christine can use Acrobatics and Telekinesis during her routine.

Sans and Rose
-will be checking out the lab and harassing KV/maybe the other technomancers
-definitely going to be climbing/teleporting up the gilded wall
-maybe trying to check out the island beyond all the thorns depending on how long the gilded wall thing takes
-spaaaaaaace researrrrrrch or just stargazing whatever stars good, sans will definitely have noticed the sky glitching and changing to other starscapes by now so he is curious about that
-will probably start getting a few memories back
Rose (WIS/STR)
-will have her balance memories back before this mission starts
-dance competition!!! she's not a bard or dancer, she just likes dancing and has some affinity for it since gem fusion is dancing
-checking out the Roswell Center in her quest for non-magical first aid skills
-apple growing begins! expect to see rose tending to some little, quickly-growing apple trees on the regular

sayori!
As far as memories goes, Sayori has some of her memories back, but she's still missing most of the facts about things she's done with the other Reclaimers. There are a lot of people she realizes she knows based on her feelings about them, but she can't remember HOW she knows them. The most important memories she has back right now are: being a poet, and being from a video game. Additionally, with her poetry, she's recalled most of her Bard path actions!
My plans both vague and specific are:
❤️ Technomancy! The glitches REALLY BOTHER HER and it's gonna really freak her out the first time she realizes she can do technomancy. :) But that will progress into doing her best to investigate the glitches and learning stuff at K.V. Labs! She wants a magitech beast friend.
❤️ Dancing! You bet your sweet buttons that she is going to want to give the dance competition a shot. Potentially with Mista and Maya, we shall see.
❤️ Literature. If there's a literature club at the Roswell Center, she's gonna go to it. And if there isn't one, she'll start one!
❤️ General info-gathering through making friends and working that CHA. She wants to make some cute Animalian buds and reunite with her fans from Lyrabar!
❤️ Speaking of CHA, embracing the sweet, sweet support role of the Bard! She is always down for adventure and will gleefully accompany anyone who would like some Bardic Inspiration and/or other helpful Bard path actions for their investigations.
❤️ Also she's an INT too because her second path is Wizard so, if you want/need an INT archetype she qualifies for that too.
❤️ Hanging out with her sweet best boy Angus. They went through some shit together in the Wonderland mission so she is going to be very glad to spend time with him.
Basically I am just excited and open to a wide variety of things so let's make 'em happen!!!

McCree wants to see how Sayori's doing and how those memories are coming along. Maybe they can do Bard stuff together. He's planning to investigate the foggy forest.

come be niece-in-law
Mike
Mia Fey
• Memorywise Mia's going to be a bit mixed up at first; her primary memories were that of her in Wonderland as Ghost when she lost her identity, so even as she recalls more and more about the Bureau it's taking a little longer for her personal memories to return. She may seem a bit out of place sometimes, but is also willing to try even more new things.
•investigation-wise, Mia'll be really interested in taking on the beat around the docks. She's sure the residents wilm have the information they need to understand the story of the island, so she's eager to investigate around the boardwalk.
•Mia's aspects are STR and DEX, so she'll be disciplined snd staying on top of her physical training, waking up early every day despite staying up late investigating. Where does she get the energy....
Spike Spiegel
•Memorywise Spike's doing better than Mia, having remembered all of what's happened at the Bureau so far. He's recalled most of his life, too, but can't recall Julia's death or the related events, nor his final moments before the consumption by the hunger.
•remember that collar he was wearing around his wrist? That collar is now on its proper dog, a very smart but not-speaking corgi named Ein. Ein will be assisting Mr. Antisocial get some more CR, since talking to people is also pretty important to the 'missions' Ein has been on before, too.
•Spike is Charismatic and dextrous, and also those are his aspects. His physical training schedule isnt wuite as rigid as Mia's and he's a late riser.
•he'll likely spend most of his time around the boardwalk, surrounded by people. Despite his competitive nature, he isn't going to be immediately interested in the dance competition.
•also, he'll finally have a gun! But he won't have tobacco since apparently all these animals have is weed and catnip : ( if you wanna deal with a whiny baby man whose dog doesn't even wanna deal with him, nicotine starved spike could be an option.

Michael
- He will be very into the dance competition! He likes dance, and also defeating others to prove his worth!
- Similarly, he may look into fighting at the Coliseum! He has completely lost his hesitance around hurting people, and he wants to play with these magic powers he has now. This might be bad, he has no sense of when to stop.
- May venture into the Foggy Forest, being also a creepy maybe-evil thing.

i def want to get some mia action w him but i do also wanna have spike meet this guy. not just bc i love michael but also bc they'd have some interesting cr!!!

Through the last couple weeks Papyrus has gotten reasonably familiar with the boardwalk, begun exploring into places like the ruins and coliseum, and even given in to the vending machine's campaign to make him drink that terrible vial.
He's going to continue exploring the ruins in search of additional powers to master and become even more impressive with, begin competing in the coliseum now that he has some idea what he's capable of, and for sure try competing in that dance competition. Showing off, competing, and hopefully being recognized as the best? How could he refuse. He just might make a costume for this, and remember making other costumes in the past...
Speaking of which, on the memory front: Papyrus is still pretty close to nothing! He's gotten small fragments of random things, without any context for what's significant in them. He'll regain a couple more through this event, and by the end of it he and Sans might even believe they're related! I'm open to people saying as much to him now, but he may not be convinced by such claims yet (how could they be, they look nothing alike!!)
no subject
...like I said Spike will be uneasy, but I think ultimately he'll be amused, so I'll just HAVE to have them interact. Does Papyrus want to see some COOL MOVES from a KUNG FU GUY?
