As a further point of clarification, in-universe is this magic illusory like in the fairytale arc of Balance, or is it the Genuine Article? Or is this distinction generally rendered irrelevant by the lack of character memories about the destruction of the wellspring of magic at game start?

Yes, there will be a network, and you MUST use kaomoji upon it ↑_(ΦwΦ)Ψ

If inventory comes up, I have to ask specifically about the status of the wish spell rock.

The wish spell rock is also accounted for. However, due to its unpredictable nature, we'd like to work out exactly what it does with you when the time comes.

1: if we the player are a balance transfer, but for whatever reason we decide not to import our Balance character, do we still need an invite from a player?
2: if we are interested in bringing a new character, either alongside or instead of a Balance transfer, is there any restrictions, or anything we should know about how people who weren't already in Faerun get to the island? (eg. they have to be AUed into a Faerun native, or something like that)
3: no question just love <3

1: As a returning player, you won't need an invite. Feel free to switch it up!
2: The main OOC restrictions are listed in the FAQ - that is, what can and can't be apped, and that new characters start with a full Path (so 10 skills) and their optional canon skill. IC, nope! While the full story of how our newest Reclaimers arrive will be revealed in time, they can be assumed to have arrived the same way as the pre-existing Reclaimers - though you're certainly welcome to AU them into a Faerun native if you wish.
3: Aw, thank you. ❤️

1) TLDR said OC has a foresight ability that gets used in three ways: the first is to render all blind jokes impossible since he can still See, kinda sorta, just like constantly 3 seconds ahead, it's fine. The second is that it auto-kicks in with warnings akin to "You are 75% likely to die like a moron if you pick this Social Link choice, don't do it", but it's more like a Vibe Check than anything really foresight-y. The last and most modly relevant one is that it can be used to See a future result at 100% accuracy, with the downsides that it means whatever it was Will Come To Pass, whether good or bad. Aaaand it also kills him, but whatever, he dies a lot, it's fine.
I figure it'd get hit to shit with the nerfbat and/or require a lot of it tied up in dice rolls, but would that fly as a canon power for me to write up, or should I save myself the time and joss it. y/n me
2) Balance transfers can come in with all possessions on their person, but does that fly for new characters? Not weapons or magic anythings. I only mean mundane shit like duct tape or wallets full of pictures of your non-chimera daughter. If yes, did you want a list in the quazi-app?
3) Regarding the memory loss, is that all memories or just memories of Balance? Are they 100% gone, just kind of vague dreams and notions sorta thing, and without spoilering plot thingies how are we getting them back? IE: power of CR, through dream prompts, throwing coins at the vending machine, help me out here.

1. That would fly as a canon power with some nerfing, yes! You're welcome to go ahead and work out a nerf on your own and we can negotiate it if it ends up not gelling perfectly. F in chat for this character, also.
2. Yep, all non-magic, non-weapon, non-living items show up on the character's person on arrival. We'll go ahead and include a space to list those on the app — thank you for bringing the idea to our attention!
3. All memories, baby. 100% gone. You're welcome to play with faint feelings of deja vu-y familiarity towards other characters as you like, per player discretion of course. As far as regaining those memories, it depends on what kind of memory it is. Personal memories of a character's past life, relationships, and most experiences can be regained at player discretion and your preferred speed. Any memories to do with overarching plot or major NPCs must be vetted by mods before recovery.
We're not going to be policing this super rigidly, to be clear! We just want to make sure that as many characters are able to participate in big reveals as possible, which might be difficult if these major plot-related memory regains were self-determined. Subject to exceptions, regaining memories will happen one of two ways: either you can approach us with a thread saying hey, I feel like this might be a good point for my character to remember X, and we'll yea or nay; or it will be determined by RNG, IE a very tasty roll might offer a memory nugget to a character.
Some examples of things that would require mod approval: the Relics, Lucretia, the Hunger. If you're not sure which category a memory falls into, let us know!

-Upon arriving to the island, Reclaimers will lose their memories as if stressed; similar to how you feel after studying all night, taking a nap, and waking up wondering where the heck you've ended up. It's a very physically-induced feeling, and will give Reclaimers no indication of being tampered with. No arcana check needed here! There's no magic involved-- except for one tiny little memory: how did everyone get to the Island? (That's a mystery to be solved in the game, after all!)
-We intend for most aspects of this adventure to be as player-friendly as possible. As such, there will be an opt-out option provided. Though all Reclaimers will wake up foggy, memory loss can be remedied as quickly or as slowly as the player wants.
Memory regains are at the Player's discretion, not at the mercy of dice rolls. The only requirement to regain memories is to play with others on the island; ICly, all they have to do is recover from their stress and reinforce their bonds with other Reclaimers and the inhabitants of the Island. You can regain memories as early as an hour in or as late as right before the CTA, whichever works best for you.
-Players will also be able to choose what memories they're losing; want Mario to forget all of Mushroom Kingdom before he arrived at the Moon Base? Go for it! Only want him to forget his time as a Reclaimer? Aces! Want Mario to wake up knowing only his name and not his purpose as a world saving plumber? Done! Not comfy with any of it? Have Mario remember after a nice de-stress hour on the beach OR take our to-be-announced Opt Out option and focus your efforts on path-building, Cr-building, and island adventuring instead!
-As mentioned before, the only memory that Reclaimers cannot regain naturally is the collective memory of how they all came to the Island. Not even Angus seems to recall! And according to this OOC Arcana Check: yes! There's a magical reason for why this memory seems to have been stolen. We'll all find out together with Angus on the island why we can't recall how we got here!
