As a further point of clarification, in-universe is this magic illusory like in the fairytale arc of Balance, or is it the Genuine Article? Or is this distinction generally rendered irrelevant by the lack of character memories about the destruction of the wellspring of magic at game start?

When you say transfers can "max out their path actions" on arrival, would that mean, for example, if I have one path maxed and a second started, I could max out that second path automatically? Could it mean, if we're using Balance paths (and ways to get them), I could unlock an advanced path through this stipulation if the two paths I have could already unlock it, just...didn't get to do that yet?

If the other party in the Oath is on the Island, yes! It's up to you to figure out this weird emotional GPS you have for this other person. What's that about. If the other party is not on the Island, it's up to you how you deal with that — whether you choose not to engage with the mechanic at all or to see it as another mystery for your character to solve while on the Island. If anyone chooses to go the latter route, please approach us! We'd love to plan out how one-sided Oaths and memory regains will intertwine. 🙃

Yes, that's correct! You can unlock and max all path actions if you're a transfer, either two paths containing 10 path actions each or one path with 10 path actions, a second with 5, and an advanced path with 5 path actions.

It's the real deal, baby! As for the mechanics of it . . . well, we can't get too deeply into that just yet, but think of it like this: patches have been downloaded. The nature of those patches will be revealed in due time.

That being said, characters definitely don't remember anything about the wellspring of magic! They also won't know that they can do magic until they start Doing Magic. It's gonna be a fun time for everyone.

That's correct! You have free reign to unlock both your second path and your advanced path, or just all of your second path, whichever you prefer!
