Hail & well met, Reclaimers!

We are so proud and excited to welcome you to Imaginary Island, a coda inspired by balance_rpg! It's our hope that you will all enjoy this mystery-exploration-beach episode along with us. In preparation for our first IC log, why not familiarize yourself with the setting — or at least as much of the setting as there is to see so far? There's a great deal more on the horizon, naturally!




This post, though, is mostly for mingling, chatting, plotting, and getting hype! As each character's status on entry is fairly customizable per player tastes, this is a great time to let others know the nuts and bolts of your character's status, as well as any short- or long-term plans you have for them. Memloss: She's going to lose a good chunk of things, with the few things that are really regained "immediately" being:

1. She is the devil, evil incarnate, and opposes God;
2. Terezi and Erika are devils like her;
3. She loves Terezi and Erika very much.

Past that she's definitely going to be operating on movie amnesia rules, so look forward to things triggering new memories constantly!
Paths: Dancer / Warlock (SHE'S HER OWN PATRON IT'S GREAT) / Dragoon.
Housing: I haven't snagged a room yet, because I assume 666 is too on the nose for the devils, but she's going to be rooming with Terezi! AND ERIKA LIKE HALF THE TIME SORRY PAPYRUS??

Looking for: Anyone and everyone! I love all kinds of CR with Venus, and this is going to be a GREAT place for her to sort of... relive her early life in a way that doesn't suck as much?? She's an enormous dork so it shouldn't be hard to get along with her.

That said, one thing I'm NOT looking for is people to "redeem" her or convince her that she's actually good. People are free to try! But for Venus, being the devil and being "bad" is something incredibly precious to her; people ignoring that are, even when well-intentioned, erasing a part of her to do it. (This is because her canon is a giant metaphor for growing up queer in religious America WHOOPS)

Offering: Venus is a sweet, well-meaning trans gal who's never been much good at social stuff, non-social stuff, or really anything that isn't tinkering with radios. She's also the devil, because if you yell at a girl that she's evil and disgusting enough she'll take the opportunity when it comes. Whoops. She can be a bit of a jerk sometimes, but almost entirely because she's just bad at people things. She's also been overcorrecting her sheltered life from back home for a while now - meaning if you need someone to do something stupid with, she's your girl!
Plans & Goals: Honestly, with all the IRL problems I ended up having while Balance was running, I felt like I really dropped the ball. This is a second chance to take part in a real, evolving story, and I'd love for Venus to be able to actually help out and do things that mean something to people! She can also still turn people into devils in a symbolic gesture of self-acceptance, so if you're looking for a long-term goal of radical acceptance that ends in ~SELF-AFFIRMING BODY HORROR~, she is absolutely your gal.

IT'S FINE HE WASN'T SLEEPING MUCH ANYWAY, and the other roomie is Church so really there's just not a lot of sleep likely to happen in this cabana is there.

I'm going !! and "oh no" reading that Looking For bit because like, it's Papyrus "offer an unconditional hug and a scolding to a mass murderer" Undertale. He's more than willing to occasionally nag people about living their lives better, whether it's pushing a friend to confess her feelings, pushing a brother to stop eating garbage and clean up, or pushing a human to stop doing bad things.... So I could see their interactions falling afoul of the 'redeem' and 'actually good' pitfalls you mention, at least for a while.

WELL I MEAN, the absolute worst case here is that she... thinks Papyrus is a no fun fuddy-duddy for a while? Like, he's a skeleton. The dude automatically gets some points.

PLUS with her memories of her past mostly gone, she won't have quite as much of a kneejerk reaction? Basically what I'm getting at is it'll probably be less "don't try to fix me" and more "ugh shut UP dad"

Oh, excellent, that could be fun too, another person for him to big brother at. No guarantees it'll end up like that, I'm canonblind and can't predict well enough what impressions they might give each other until we see their first interactions.

It seems like she's very sincerely using the word bad to describe things she's been told are bad, but he may not agree with the metric... There's a difference between being GREAT and being "good" that Papyrus would consider important, especially with his penchant for threats, non-lethal pranks, and lying to his friends in hopes they'll do what he wants.

That works for her! He definitely doesn't have to agree with the metric, even if it's objectively right, because it's also objectively bullshit? They're on the same page now awesome*

She'd appreciate all of those - and the rest of Papyrus - though to be honest? Like I don't doubt she'd adore him after a few initial missteps, haha.

YES you have no idea how excite I was when your claim came in. Venus is such a mood.

For CR-y things, I offer a similar social failure who proceeded to fail so hard that he's also in the Opposes God Because He Is A Complete Douchebag And So Is His Posse Camp. And while there would be the chance of lectures, it'd be less "bluh bluh you're a good person" and more "okay NO, this is how you make a proper fist, now go punch that guy in the throat".
