mission update: november
Hello, adventurers! Just a small (or maybe more like medium-sized) status update from your mod team. (Preemptively: don't worry, we're not shutting everything down.)
As you may have noticed, we've been struggling with some slowdown on our end for some time. We've tried to keep you all updated when things need to be delayed, but we realize there have been times that we haven't done this, as well as times that we haven't been adequately transparent about the causes for the delays. We apologize for that.
That is in part due to the situation in the world, particularly in the United States. It goes without saying that everyone is struggling right now. You've all been very patient with us, and every one of your navigators appreciates that deeply. But we really should say it outright: we've been having a very rough time.
This project has been a lot more logistical and emotional work than we anticipated when we started. And though we expected to encounter difficulties that we couldn't have predicted and had plenty of energy to tackle those in the beginning, it's become increasingly more difficult as the situation in the world has continued and each of us has had personal issues come up in turn. None of us are operating at 100% right now, despite our best efforts. Additionally, navigators Kat and Skull have departed the team; we thank them for their contributions up until now!
Point is, times are tough, and we wanted to be honest about the fact that we're not in a great place. And depending on the outcome of the U.S. election--the elephant in the room, as we all know--it could get a lot worse.
However, we do still plan to run Imaginary Island to completion. We sincerely love this project and we love all of you, and we still really, really want to give you guys an ending you can enjoy. We just wanted to give you guys a heads up that we're likely to continue suffering from some slowdown--mainly on large things like info posts/logs and the CTA results, which require the most energy and availability from the team. We'll do our best to communicate our progress, as well as changes to any stated deadlines. That said, we hope to have CTA results out in the next day or so, and the next log shortly thereafter!
We can't thank you enough for your patience, understanding, and engagement so far. We know you guys have been struggling, as well, and it means a lot that you've stuck it out with us despite everything. Please take care of yourselves. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us on the Mod Contact post or the FAQ--or even on this post, if you'd like.
