As a note, we’d like to apologize for the long wait and thank you for your patience. We will be making a conscious effort to get responses out to all of you during the finale at a much more reasonable pace.

This team takes their preparations very seriously, it would seem, and they are rewarded for it.

In the time they've been given to plan, Sayori utilizes her earlier use of the skill Prodigy to learn the Purging dance from the Animalians (DC 6, +2 Prodigy; 11+2=13), furthering the Reclaimers rapport with the inhabitants of Baisla. As the team prepares and more and more Animalians are inoculated, they hear whispers from the Animalians of awe and admiration; the Animalians are grateful to their allies in this time of confusion and fear.

Without consulting the others, Spike approaches the very pirates that killed him earlier on in the mission. They, especially the pirate queen that shot him through the temple, are quite surprised to see him. With that in hand he convinces them (with a natural 20) that their future as pillagers rests on the plans the Reclaimers are making.

At around 6pm, the teams gather at their respective entry points to enact their plans. A trio of mechanical beast tamers— a rhino, an elephant, and a giant sloth— work to take down the wall, and as soon as it's reduced to rubble and the magic has flowed away from it, the Cursed begin to swarm the waiting crowd.

The aberrations move erratically, different portions of them flickering into flat images of static or pixellation, their many-armed forms dark and covered in bright, shining eyes. They bear down on the awaiting warriors and dancers as Sayori casts her Bardic Inspiration; the first 12 of the monsters are taken down as they pass the threshold. Their numbers increase then, and as they start to slip past the waiting Reclaimer and Animalian forces, a few of the Animalian dancers begin to panic.

The Reclaimers do not waver; Clear casts True Strike on Alex and Michael, and the pair take down 18 and (Michael; 19+1=)20 of the Cursed down respectively without so much as a single boogie break. Michael's Magic Missiles fire true, but he quickly learns that his Divine Smite makes his weapons slice through their glitchy interfaces like a hot knife through butter. Almost felled by his fourth encounter, Alex sets a Sacred Flame burning in his palms, shattering the Cursed into pieces. The Animalians become encouraged to see that even without the Purging dance, the offense is working.

As if that wasn't enough, the dance is working too; as Lola demonstrates, the energy-charged moves send radiant energy rippling through the Cursed until they explode, much the same way as they do with the radiant moves Michael and Alex use against them. With dancing on their side, Sayori and Christine advance through the crowd of Cursed just as well. Sayori takes down 10 with her recently learned dance (and a helpful spin from Michael when they cross paths), and Christine's well-practiced moves blow a full 30 (27+3=30) of the Cursed to pieces.

At the head of the Animalian forces, Lola proves just how powerful a magical dance can be. She and the team of dancers that flocked around her at Boogie Boardwalk Night perform as a matched set. For all of a moment, the leader of the dance seems overwhelmed and overtaken by the sight of the giant glitching aberrations, but after the crackle of one of Rose’s Lucky Flairs sets off, the team regains their advantage. Lola's heavy-hoofed stomps alone take out 39 (1; reroll 39) of the aberrations, and her team behind her tear down 77 (27+50=77). Dancing alongside them (and whose Lucky Flairs continue to protect the Reclaimers and Animalians alike) is Rose, adding 19 (1; reroll 16+3=19) Cursed to the total.

From her own post on the other side of the island, Clear handles the stragglers of the Cursed that seem to see the path toward the Cascades as a more suitable way out. The third she encounters knocks Clear to the ground, and 3 of the offending Cursed slip past her into the water. Laying prone on the sand, Clear’s mind turns immediately to Alex, and she gets back up. Though the fight wages long, Clear takes down 7 (3; reroll 7) of the Cursed total, until they turn away in search of another route out.

As sunset threatens to turn the battlefield dark, Sayori calls to the others on her team, reinforcing their bonds with tales of their memories; together, they add an extra 9 to their total. And just as they and the Animalian dancers start to tire, reinforcements arrive.

More beast-tamers arrive at the behest of KV, one atop the shoulders of what appears to be a quetzalcoatlus, another at the side of a smilodon-shaped beast. Together with the elephant and rhino, they bolster the tiring forces and take down 48 (28+20=48) more of the aberrations. But they aren't the only reinforcements the team sees; Spike's new pirate friends arrive on the scene with swords and bombs in hand. They and Spike take down 50 (nat20 Autopass; 50) of the remaining Cursed forces together.

With their numbers dwindling, the Cursed don't seem to sense their coming fate. They amble on restlessly into the awaiting city, but the Animalians are emboldened. They have seen the strength of the Reclaimers, and the power of the dance. The islanders embrace their beloved dance and step out onto the streets themselves, channelling whatever energy they have, dancer and warlock, barbarian and chemist alike. And together, they take out the last of the Cursed forces, until every glitchy, many-eyed shadow is rendered through with light. Even those that passed Clear to escape to the Springs are stomped out; Marinero and his live-in assistant dance away one, the children visiting him another, and their lunch guests the last.

Congratulations, Team. You rolled 352/350, enough to clear the entire island of cursed aberrations. More information will be coming in the CTA log!

Still fun, no flavor: We’d like you to know what dice were rolled to add to the totals, as well as your modifiers. True Strike was cast on Michael and Alex. The Sayoreos gave Sayori Advantage on the Bardic Inspiration roll. Christine got +1 DEX from her archetype for dancing and then +1 DEX and +1 WIS towards the power of her dance from the Magic Tea. Rose got +1 WIS from her archetype and the +1 DEX and +1 WIS from the tea for the same. Michael’s STR attribute added +1 to his combat roll. Sayori’s positive memories allowed the team to take down 1d10 Cursed. Core team Fighter contributions (Michael and Alex) rolled a d20. Core team Dancers (Sayori, Christine) rolled a d30. Support Dancer Rose rolled a d20, and Support Fighter Clear rolled a d10. Lola rolled a d40. The Animal Dancers rolled a d80+50. KV’s Scientists rolled 1d40+20. Spike rolled 1d20 to convince the pirates, and the pirates were to roll 1d50+15 upon his success. 350 was the threshold for the biggest success, so congrats!
